Best option

Resizing an image can be accomplished in a number of ways. There are literally thousands of software tools that can perform this action. While many may simply choose an option convenient or something easily accessible, it may be useful to take a while and consider what method is the best for image size
modification considering it is a task that is commonly needed by layman and computer professionals alike.

Some of the options include using a simple image editing tool, a professional, a third party image resizing tool or a web based one. A simple image editing tool may be easily accessible and may get the job done but may not be conveniently carried out within the application due to lack of functionality. A
professional one on the other hand may be superfluous in terms of versatility and features available, not to mention the heavy CPU usage while the program is in execution. Third party tools are usually quite crafty at the job as it only provides this single feature but may not be the ideal option unless you resize images on a constant basis. Online resizing is similar to a third party resizing tool except that it is online.

Ideally, the latter would be the best method to resize images for a number of reasons:

As it is online
it does not consume any CPU resources allowing you to carry out any other
activities while the task is in progress.

The interface is usually designed to be very convenient
Simply enter the dimensions you wish to resize your image to and you are good to go.

Online image editing tools
usually provide the important feature of resizing multiple images at once. This is crucial if you are looking to modify several images as doing them one at a time
using a traditional image editing tool can be time consuming and highly inconvenient.

Online image resizing
can be a better option if privacy is a concern. While this may seem ironic, if you are looking to edit images that are meant only for your eyes, having them done online and delivered to your personal email may be safer in terms of privacy than doing the modification locally on your computer.

Online image editing combines the advantages of all the other options available. However, there may be one drawback. Transfer of data may be slow as it is handled via the internet. if you have a relatively decent internet connection, this shouldn't be an issue as images are rather small in size in comparison to other forms of media. Finally, irrespective of the method you use, don't pay for the service. While it may solve your problem, it is a fairly simple feature that can be done in several, easily accessible. Paying for it would be wasteful.
